Christantus Uche Fuels Straightforward Palace Win at Shelbourne.
Despite entering their first-ever continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are adapting at a rapid pace. Without star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but secures them a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further three points in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal direct passage to the knockout stages, particularly following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Moment
This occasion offered a chance for some of Palace's fringe players to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, notched the account with a clinical finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second game in succession.
A Shelbourne side that had concluded their league season were no match against a largely second-string Palace outfit. The Londoners were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

After the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt strike off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This allowed 17-year-old striker Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
