Nearly 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast were left lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the state, bringing strong winds hitting 109km/h.

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along significant areas of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
